The Long Beach Grand Prix returns to SoCal for a 45th edition this weekend. One of the biggest changes to this year’s event is new title sponsor Acura, replacing Toyota after four decades. Otherwise, you can expect the same amazing sports car races, Stadium Super Trucks, food trucks, entertainment and more.
According to Long Beach Post, “The Friday Fiesta concert will feature El Tri, a Mexico City band fronted by bassist-vocalist Alex Lora. The concert will begin after the day’s racing events, at approximately 6:45 p.m., on the plaza in front of the Performing Arts Center and is free to all Grand Prix ticket holders.
“Long Beach’s homegrown rockers Cold War Kids will headline the Saturday night concert on April 13. The five-piece indie rock band formed in Fullerton in 2004, but achieved most of its success after relocating to Long Beach in 2008. Opening for Cold War Kids on Grand Prix Saturday will be the electronica trio Moontower.”
